Production
The manufacturing process of a garment product focuses on the steps involved in transforming raw materials into finished garments. These are the steps of the manufacturing process:
Fabric Cutting:
Pattern Layout: The patterns, which have been created and graded during the design phase, are laid out on the fabric to optimize material usage and reduce waste.
Cutting: Fabric is precisely cut into pieces according to the patterns using manual cutting tools, automated cutting machines, or laser cutters.
Sewing and Assembly:
Stitching: The cut fabric pieces are sewn together using various sewing techniques. This involves assembling the main body pieces and adding elements like sleeves, collars, and linings.
Joining: Different parts of the garment, such as pockets, zippers, buttons, and trims, are attached according to the design specifications.
Seaming: Seams are reinforced and finished to ensure durability and a neat appearance.
Detailing and Embellishment:
Embellishments: Additional decorative elements, such as embroidery, appliqués, sequins, or prints, are added to the garment.
Finishing Touches: Final touches, such as attaching labels, tags, and any additional fasteners, are completed.
Pressing and Ironing:
Pressing: Garments are pressed or steamed to remove wrinkles and give a polished, finished look. This step ensures that the garment maintains its intended shape and appearance.
Quality Control:
Inspection: Each garment undergoes a thorough inspection to check for any defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from the design specifications. This includes checking seams, stitching quality, and overall construction.
Testing: Depending on the garment, additional quality tests may be performed, such as testing for colorfastness, fabric strength, and durability.
Packaging:
Labeling: Garments are labeled with necessary information, including size, care instructions, and branding.
Folding and Packing: Finished garments are folded neatly, packed into protective packaging, and prepared for shipment.
These steps collectively constitute the core manufacturing process, ensuring that the raw materials are transformed into high-quality, finished garments ready for distribution and sale.
